Tank Man, or the Unknown Protester, is the anonymous man who stood directly in the path of a huge column of oncoming Type 59 army tanks armed with just two plastic shopping bags. The David & Goliath confrontation occurred on the morning following the 5th of June 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre, when the Chinese military killed hundreds of demonstrators in Beijing.
Tank Man went on to become the most famous protester of the 20th century.
Decades later & Tank Man's identity is still a mystery. Here Tank man is pitted against another authoritarian regime, The Galactic Empire, who send the ATAT’s to quell the rebel protesters.
