Millionaire presenter Jeremy Clarkson allegedly punched a 'Top Gear' producer in the chops at the end of a long day having been offered a plate of sandwiches instead of the preferred 8oz peppercorn steak & fondant potatoes.
Clarkson, at the time, was said to be 'intensely relaxed' over the BBC's investigation into the incident. And why not? Several other TV rivals including Sky & ITV were circling to try & sign him up. Top Gear co-stars Richard Hammond & James May backed their friend & colleague with a declaration from the outset. Fire Clarkson & we all walk.
However, despite nearly a million fans signing a petition to keep the world’s most famous motoring journalist at Top Gear the BBC still sacked him. You have to wonder at the sheer incompetence of BBC’s management, firing one of TV’s greatest talents with disastrous
results for Top Gear & Top Gear fans the world over.
