Ford V Ferrari

Ford v Ferrari, (Le Mans '66 for the Brits) starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale.

The plot follows a bunch of eccentric diehard American engineers and designers, led by automotive God Carroll Shelby and British driver, Ken Miles.

In 1963, Ford tried a buyout of Ferrari. Ferrari’s Enzo said “no a waya” to the when he realized it included Ferrari's racing program. Ferrari had won Le Mans (the world's oldest sports car endurance race held every year since 1923) in 1958 and every year from 1960 through 1965. A pissed off Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca decide to ‘go to war’ with Ferrari & build the Ford GT40 race car with the mission to take on and beat the all conquering Ferrari racing team at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Man race in France.

Automotive designer God Carroll Shelby and semi-crazed race car driver Ken Miles lead a team of Ford yank engineers to build a race car that can beat Ferrari. Ultimately, they produce the Ford GT40 for a showdown at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were supposed to be part of the cast, but that didn't work out.
