The famous Bullitt movie chase scene took three weeks to film but lasted 10 minutes & 53 screen seconds! The city denied permission to film on the Golden Gate Bridge but allowed unprecedented access to other parts of San Francisco.
McQueen made a point of keeping his head near the Mustang 's driver side window throughout the chase so that audiences would be assured it was himself & not a stunt man who was driving.
