The Long Island penny stock broker Jordan Belfort who became a financial mogul & featured on the front cover of Forbes Magazine was the ‘Wolf of Wall Street’.

Belfort set up the Stratton-Oakmont brokerage house. Together with his trusted lieutenant Donny Azoff & a band of jackpot crazed money brokers they amassed a huge fortune by defrauding wealthy investors out of $millions in boiler room scams.

As his status grew, so too did the amount of substance he abused. Quaaludes (Ludes) being his drug of choice. At the peak of the madness he took 10-20 a day, enough to kill an elephant calf.

As Belfort & his cronies engaged in a hedonistic brew of sex, drugs & rock & roll, the SEC & FBI closed in on his empire of excess. Following a plea deal with the FBI, he eventually served 22 months in prison for defrauding investors.
